We've all had them - hair catastrophes. A bad cut. A disatrous color. But your beauty timeline clock is ticking and there is no room
for impulsive moves. Check out our list of
I DOs and DON'Ts to get your hair into shape without risking a wedding day follicle fiasco.
I DOs
- 6 months before your wedding :: consult with your hairstylists to set up a hair care regimine.
- 3 months :: schedule your wedding day hair and makeup appointments and plan special styles for the bridal shower and rehearsal
dinner.
- 2 months :: consult and experience with different styles. Choose a hairstyle before you choose your veil or headpiece. Play
with a few styles before finalizing your look.
- 1 month :: trim/cut your hair. This will give your hair a few weeks to settle and soften.
- 2 weeks :: color/touch-up your existing hair color. Hair color looks best the first 2 weeks, so have it done a week before
style/makeup rehearsal.
- 3 days :: have a pedicure and manicure. Whether it's in a tropical paradise or the heart of the city, a honeymoon requires
beautiful feet and hands.
I DON'Ts
- Do not make hairstyle changes within 3 months of the wedding.
- Do not choose a large or overly ornate headpiece.
- Do not have your hair styled too early.
- Do not choose a hairstyle that's too structural. It will be impossible to maintain.
- Do not wash your hair right before styling it. It's too slippery to handle.
- Do not dye your hair at home.
